Skype developers have recently accounced that they are working on several new features for their internet communications service. Although no official release date has been set, these new developments are sure to further enhance and improve Skype’s service.

One of the most notable elements of this release is the Application to Application messaging feature. It will allow applications to efficiently and securely communicate over the Skype network in a variety of new ways. This could help open the door to better networking of many different applications such as games, collaboration tools, and expressive messaging software.

Another significant release being planned is a call forwarding option. This will allow users to forward incoming Skype calls to any other SkypeOut number.

Other features in the works include expandable profiles, improved searching tools, and a web presence API which will allow websites to publish the presence status of participating users. The impending release of these innovations is likely to inspire even more customer interest and popularity for Skype and their services.
