WARNING: Mobile Phones Don’t Really Work Underground

A widely circulated rumor, which has been doing its rounds since the recent terrorist attacks in London, claims that tube travelers can contact emergency services by simply dialing 112 on their cell phones. This is a comforting idea in these fearful times, but sadly, it is completely untrue.

The London Underground has warned travelers that mobile phones, in actual fact, do not work underground. Even if you are trying to contact emergency services, no signal means no signal.
