Nokia Launches New Brand Name For Music-Ready Devices

3:45 pm on September 28, 2005 | Category: Business

Nokia unveiled its new XpressMusic brand name on Monday, in an attempt to help customers easily identify the company’s music-ready cell phones.

In order to fit under the XpressMusic brand umbrella, a device must be able to automatically pause music when an incoming call comes in, and resume it when the call ends. Eligible devices must have dedicated music keys, be USB 2.0 compatible, and provide support for a range of audio formats (MP3, WMA, AAC, etc.)

Nokia plans to begin using the new brand and logo on the packaging of an upcoming shipment of Nokia N91 and 3250 mobile phones.
