RIM Appeal Rejected, Stock Price Falls
1:21 am on October 9, 2005 | Category: Business, Mobile Devices, LawThe Waterloo, Ontario-based Research in Motion fell a further 4%, to $75.93, after US courts ruled against their appeal of a recent patent dispute ruling.
The company’s shares have performed very poorly in recent days, due to rulings restricting them from selling their popular BlackBerry email devices in the United States.
This will likely not be the end of the ongoing dispute; however, as RIM is still pursuing other avenues of appeal, as well as filing challenges with the US patent office.
