Windows-Based Treo won’t Become Available Until 2006
1:39 am on October 3, 2005 | Category: Business, Mobile Devices, PDAsEven though Palm has now officially unveiled its Windows-based PDA, it will likely not be available to consumers for quite some time. The device is not scheduled to hit retail shelves in the United States until early next year, and most non-US markets will have to wait even longer than that.
Overall, very few details were released about the new PDA, which is as-of-yet-unnamed. All that we know for sure is that it will run on Windows Mobile 5.0, have an Intel CPU and EV-DO high-speed data system, and be offered on the Verizon network. Palm also mentioned that they will be incorporating some of its own software, but didn’t name many specifics about just what kind of software that would be.
“Full product details will be disclosed when the product is available for purchase in early calendar 2006,” was all the company had to say on the matter.
Let’s just hope it’s worth the wait…
