High Speed BlackBerry Coming to Canada

Rogers Wireless will be responsible for marketing the device to customers throughout the country.
The 8700r has been hailed as an excellent option for those who want all-in-one phone, email, wireless web, and data management capabilities. It runs on high speed EDGE network technology, which enables considerably faster data transfer rates than many similar products.
“We are very pleased to expand our longstanding relationship with Rogers Wireless and introduce the BlackBerry 8700r to Canadian customers,” said RIM president and co-CEO, Mike Lazaridis. “The BlackBerry 8700r is a dramatic step forward in mobile communications, delivering an unrivaled user experience that leverages the combined power of the BlackBerry platform, Intel PXA901 cellular processor and Rogers Wireless’ high-speed EDGE network.”
