Nokia CEO, Jorma Ollila has made a prediction that the market for smartphones will double over the next year. This comes shortly after Nokia’s release of the E Series of enterprise-level smartphones, as well as the multimedia-enabled N Series.

“I am comfortable in saying that we expect the market for convergence devices like smartphones to double to 100 million units in 2006,” Ollila said at a conference in Spain.

He also predicted an increase in demand for phones with integrated music players, and forecast that by 2009, nearly 75% of all mobile phones would include built-in digital cameras.
