Wireless device manufacturer, RIM has announced plans to open a technical support center in Halifax next year, creating as many as 300 jobs immediately, and more over the coming years.

The government of Nova Scotia has offered the company a $14-million tax rebate if it meets its target of 1200 jobs within five years.

The government’s support of the new facility is not surprising, due to the fact that it will be a very nice boost to the province’s technology sector, and it’s economy overall.
