ROKR Discounted by $100
3:15 pm on November 10, 2005 | Category: Business, Mobile Devices, Cell PhonesAfter dismally poor performance for the past several weeks, Cingular Wireless has decided to cut the price of the Motorola ROKR phone by a drastic 40%.
The phone, which features Apple’s iTunes music software, has seen below average sales from day one, and it appears that this latest move by Cingular could be an attempt to unload excess stock.
The retail price of a new ROKR iTunes phone is now a mere $149.99, down from it’s initial cost of $249.99.

That and maybe something to help the phone battle it’s way through a market full of “$20″ Color Flip Phones

Yes, more competitive pricing is definitely something that they need to think about with this and future devices. It certainly wasn’t taken into proper account when the ROKR was launched…
