Wave Wireless Corporation and WaveRider Communications have announced their intentions to merge together and integrate their wireless broadband solutions.

Although exact specifics of the deal have not yet been worked out, it will involve the combination of the Wave Wireless Speedlan line of mesh networking products with WaveRider’s fixed and mobile 900 MHz “Last Mile Solutions.”

Together, the two companies will have a stronger and more diversified product portfolio, which will consist of fixed wireless, mobile, and mesh networking offerings.

“The proposed combination will result in a broad product offering that serves a large and diverse mix of customers,” says WaveRider CEO, Charles Brown, who is expected to take over leadership of the combined entity.
