Yahoo announced yesterday that it would be extending its RSS platform, and combining it with the new version of Yahoo Mail, which is currently undergoing beta testing.

The integration of feeds with the world’s most popular web mail solution will give users access to a huge selection of constantly updated news headlines and other information.

“We’re expanding upon Yahoo’s significant leadership in RSS by integrating it right into the world’s most popular Web mail service,” said Yahoo Mail’s product development directory, Ethan. “By adding feeds to Yahoo! Mail, we will introduce RSS technology to a more expansive consumer base than ever before.”

All in all, this is just one more example of how the RSS content syndication format is being integrated with other web services, to make internet communication more versatile and user-friendly.
