Bluetooth SIG Aims for Increased Wireless Standardization
5:15 am on December 13, 2005 | Category: Business, Wireless Technology
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group has announced plans to cooperate more closely with other wireless technology standards, such as Wi-Fi, UWB, and NFC.
In future, the SIG is hoping to increase standard compatibility, combine functionality, and make end users’ experience more straightforward. They plan to do this with increased integration of other standards with future versions of Bluetooth.
Moves like this are beneficial to consumers and also to the wireless industry in general, as straightforward technology is much more likely to attract users. Hopefully, other wireless forums will elect to work with Bluetooth in this quest to make the world of technology a little less complicated.
