Software development tool manufacturer, Trolltech, has just released Qtopia Phone Edition 2.2, the first Linux-based VoIP application for mobile phones and converged media devices.

Otopia is an independent open source solution, which can be used by developers to create feature-rich Linux-based software, while maintaining total control of functionality and branding.

Over 30 mobile phone companies, including Motorola, are currently designing, manufacturing, or selling handsets equipped with Otopia or a similar Trolltech application.
