2:44 am on December 19, 2005 | Category: Business
Nokia CEO, Jorma Ollila has recently made the decision to step down from his role at the helm of the world’s largest handset maker, but continue with the company in a limited capacity.
In an interview that was published earlier today, Ollila revealed that he would begin working about two days a week as a non-executive chairman as soon as his pending resignation takes effect.
“The intention is that it would be possible to use a couple of days (per week) for taking care of Nokia’s business and in that sense to be quite an active chairman,†the soon to be ex-CEO commented.
Ollila has been CEO of the Finnish handset giant since 1992, and will be replaced Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo on June 1st of next year.
