Vonage Launches Wireless VoIP Phone
9:00 am on December 17, 2005 | Category: Mobile Devices, VoIP
Broadband phone provider, Vonage has officially launched their first Wi-Fi VoIP phone this week. The Vonage F1000 can access any public 802.11b wireless network, and make use of all the standard features, including 3-way calling, voicemail, and call display.
Similar in appearance to another wireless VoIP phone from BoradVoice, the F1000 allows for five hours of talk time, or 100 hours of standby time between battery charges.
Although Vonage isn’t the first provider to launch a wireless VoIP phone, they are getting in on the ground floor of what could be an amazing opportunity. With VoIP and wireless being two of today’s fastest growing technologies, their gradual combination is already beginning to transform the telecommunications industry as we know it.
