NetClarity Launches Free VoIP Hardware Testing Service
5:50 am on January 31, 2006 | Category: VoIP
Network vulnerability solutions provider, NetClarity, has announced a free network testing service for VoIP equipment providers.
The so called Audit My VoIP application is able to scan all types of equipment, ranging from IP phones to SIP gateways, for Common Vulnerability and Exposures, which the company’s CTO identifies as “the systemic cause of over 90 percent of all network security breaches.”
NetClarity is highly recommending that makers of VoIP hardware submit their products for testing, to ensure a high level of device security and stability.
“VoIP networks are not very secure by default and, as a result, are susceptible to poor call quality, denial of service, breaches of privacy, integrity and availability,” cautions CTO, Gary Miliefsky. “Securing VoIP will become a serious concern for IT professionals very quickly. They need to take preemptive, proactive measures to harden weak network assets.”
