It hasn’t been long since Nokia’s 770 Internet Tablet was released, but so far, it has turned out to be a big hit, performing much better than Nokia expected.

At a cost of $349, this web-ready device has found itself in high demand. In fact, the demand is so great that Nokia has actually run out of stock and have been forced to implement a waiting period of about two weeks. In order to end this annoying supply hiccup, Nokia plans to increase production of the device in the near future.

As of yet, the Linux-based 770 Internet Tablet is a unique device with no direct competition. It is not yet certain how long this situation will last, but with the device’s high level of popularity, it seems to be only a matter of time before another company launches some kind of similar solution.
