A federal court in Germany has ruled that RIM’s BlackBerry wireless email devices aren’t in violation of a patent owned by intellectual property company, InPro.

This means that, for the moment, RIM’s interests in Europe are safe, and the company can put all its effort into fighting the ongoing patent battle with NTP in the United States.

Although unrelated to the US dispute, this victory in Europe is certainly an encouraging sign for the Ontario-based wireless device maker, and is re-enforcing the cautiously optimistic attitude that analysts have for the company’s long-term prospects.

The next hearing with NTP is set for February 24th, and could be RIM’s last chance to avoid an injunction preventing the sale of BlackBerry devices in the United States.
