TDC Forms IPTV Partnerships with Microsoft and Alcatel
1:33 am on January 26, 2006 | Category: Business, Telecom Services
Danish telecommunications company, TDC, has announced partnerships with Alcatel and Microsoft in the creation of its forthcoming IPTV network.
TDC, which also operates a cable network, says that Alcatel will be handling the integration of services, while Microsoft will supply software for the network. There is no word yet on whom will provide the set-top boxes that will be required for operation.
The new IPTV service will be part of TDC’s aggressive plan to roll out a nationwide triple-play network over the next 24 months. The original plan was announced last week, but partnerships were only revealed yesterday, so as to coincide with the TVoDSL show in Paris, France.
