With their own mobile video service now launched, Vodafone has now decided to introduce a similar service for streaming music.

The Vodafone Radio DJ service is a joint venture between Europe’s largest mobile phone carrier, and Sony NetServices. It will offer personalized music channels for Vodafone users on their handsets and PCs.

This shows that Vodafone is eager to grab its share of the mobile music market, which several major cell phone providers around the world have already begun capitalizing upon. The top three US mobile providers, Cingular, Verizon, and Sprint, have already launched music streaming offerings to supplement revenue from their core voice services.
