A recent survey suggests that Australia’s fixed-line business telephone market is declining rapidly, in favor of more efficient VoIP communication technology.

The survey, which was jointly conducted by Atug and Engin, shows that Australian business customers who have switched to VoIP have reduced their phone bills by as much as 75%.

With the increase in broadband adoption, most enterprise-level customers have given up their extra phone lines, previously used for dialup, and 8.5% have replaced all of their landline phones with VoIP alternatives.

41% of the businesses surveyed say that they noticed an improvement in service when switching to VoIP, and 10% now make more calls than they did previously, while spending less money.
