Sony revealed some interesting details yesterday about a new service that will allow ImageStation members to share photos through web-enabled camera phones, in addition to computers, televisions, and portable entertainment devices.

The so called “Share Everywhere” program will work with Sony’s new Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition 2.0. The application is designed for distribution via wireless carriers, and will allow camera phone users to access, view, upload, and share digital photographs and video clips with an easy-to-use interface.

“People want to enjoy the convenience of sharing photos from all of their devices — their phone, TV, PlayStation Portable, or computer — and be able to access them anywhere, anytime whether they are at home, at work, or on-the- go,” said Sony ImageStation vice president, Bob Nell. “With this latest application, wireless service providers, handset manufacturers, and mobile service aggregators can attract new customers who are looking to enhance their mobile lifestyle.”

The new application will become available to wireless providers starting in April of this year.
