6:30 am on February 11, 2006 | Category: Business, Mobile Devices
As of this morning, Nokia has formally completed its corporate acquisition of US-based mobile connectivity software vendor, Intellisync.
The company’s products will continue to be marketed under the Intellisync brand, and be added to Nokia’s business mobility software family. They will still provide support for non-Nokia devices, including those running Palm OS and Windows Mobile operating systems.
“This acquisition puts Nokia in an unparalleled position in the business mobility market,” said Mary McDowell, executive vice president and general manager of Nokia’s Enterprise Solutions business group. “By combining the existing Nokia offerings with the leading software, synchronization and device management solutions from Intellisync, we are able to connect practically any device built on any platform, to any data source, application or network.”
With the acquisition now complete, independently traded Intellisync shares will be de-listed, and existing shareholders will be paid $5.25 in cash for each share.
