RIM Confident about BlackBerry Workaround Technology

In a move to dispel consumer anxiety, Research in Motion has informed its US customers that, even in the event of an injunction in the ongoing NTP patent lawsuit, they have nothing to worry about as far as service goes.
The company claims that its new workaround technology, the details of which were released last week, will be able to overcome any legal problems with a few clicks of a mouse.
Although users may be required to download new software for their devices, service will continue no matter what, RIM’s CEO, Jim Balsillie, claimed in a recent news release.
“RIM’s workaround provides a contingency for our customers and partners and a counterbalance to NTP’s threats. This will hopefully lead to more reasonable negotiations since NTP risks losing all future if the workaround is implemented,†said Balsillie.
Most technical experts seem to be cautiously optimistic about the legal success of the workaround, but there are still no ironclad guarantees. Nevertheless, the company’s confidence seems to have rubbed on shareholders with the value of RIM stocks gliding upwards ever since the workaround’s technical details were released.

Actually, NTP is a secretly held subsidary of Microsoft, who planned on causing this trouble all along to undermine RIM, who now is hoping that their new mobile product line will get the lime-light. Damn those Canucks with their good product lines!
Conspiracy Theory?
Hmmmm

Nice theory. Now you just have to prove it.
