Sony and Glowpoint’s joint consumer launch of the Instant Video Everywhere service opens up a handy new option for those needing PC-to-PC video VoIP.

The free basic service allows any two IVE users to engage in two-way voice chat, while streaming video of themselves via a webcam. The IVE software is a free download, and can be used from any broadband internet connection in the world.

Premium versions of the service, which are available for $9.95 to $19.95 per month, allow users to make calls to landlines, mobile phones, and users of other VoIP telephony networks.
