According to a report released on Monday by USA Today, it wasn’t just AT&T that agreed to comply with the US government’s illegal wiretapping program.

Verizon Communications and Sprint Nextel have now also been named in this infamous case of abuse of government power. Executives from both companies have confirmed that confidential customer information and records were illegally disclosed on the basis of oral requests from government officials, rather than warrants or court orders.

This information being made public will likely damage the reputations of both companies, and potential open them up to lawsuits, similar to the one that AT&T is already facing.
