ESPN is extending its mobile content business to a number of new wireless markets, including Canada, Europe, and Latin America.
The company says that the new international offerings will include “a variety of content-rich offerings, including sports news and information, video, ringtones, wallpapers, wireless Internet sites, and short messaging services (SMS).”
In Canada, the service will be sold by all three big wireless operators through an affiliation with QuickPlay, and will include video highlights. In addition to this, Telus and Bell Mobility will offer mobile data applications, games, ringtones, wallpaper, and a special ESPN website designed for wireless internet users.
