Nintendo is boasting a healthy turnout for its recently launched Wi-Fi gaming service, which has attracted one million users in less than four months.

The wireless gaming service allows Nintendo DS users to log on to a multiplayer network, and play a variety of interactive games.

“We are delighted to have experienced such a high take-up of our Wi-Fi Connection service in such a short period of time. The accessibility of the service is a key factor in its success – we have made Wi-Fi gaming simple and affordable to everyone,” said Nintendo in a statement.

The console maker hopes to further bolster its user base in the coming months, by launching a number of high profile games, including Metroid Prime Hunters, Tetris DS, and Animal Crossing: Wild World.
