Nokia Unveils New Mobile Blogging Software
5:20 am on March 13, 2006 | Category: Web Services, Mobile Devices
In its latest attempt to converge the worlds of blogging and mobile phones, Nokia has unveiled its most recent version of Lifeblog 2.0.
Nokia’s Lifeblog solution allows users to create complete multimedia diaries containing messages, photos, and video clips on their mobile phones, and transfer their work to compatible blogging services, including Typepad.
The new version includes the ability to add audio notes, calendar entries, and location information to each blog post, making it easier to locate certain entries from a mobile phone or PC. The software will also be able to detect pictures and videos as soon as they are taken, then later attach this information to a blog timestamp.
A PC version of Lifeblog 2.0 is currently available as a free download at www.nokia.com/lifeblog, and the mobile phone version will be available by the end of April.
Lifeblog 2.0 will be compatible exclusively with Nokia N-Series devices, but alternative mobile blogging platforms are popping up for a wide variety of handsets. Sony Ericsson, for example, will equip two of its latest camera phones with the popular Blogger platform, through a deal with Google.
