Digital storage manufacturer, SanDisk Corporation, has officially unveiled the SanDisk Ultra II Mobile series of flash memory cards for multimedia cell phones.

These new cards have faster read and write speeds that those of standard flash memory cards, and include the added bonus of an extra-long warranty. The devices are designed with fast, energy efficient transferring of files between your cell phone and PC, without using up too much of your mobile battery power.

Three different card types will support the miniSD, microSD, and Memory Stick PRO Duo memory formats, and range in capacity from 1GB to 4GB. All models have read/write speeds of 10MB and 9MB, respectively.

“Network operators and phone manufacturers are increasing the availability of premium content — such as music, movies, games and broadcast TV — that can be downloaded and stored on flash memory cards in the mobile phone,” said SanDisk marketing executive, David Smurthwaite. “Our new SanDisk Ultra II Mobile line provides the ideal combination of speed, optimized energy consumption and high capacity points to meet the demands of the newest mobile phones as well as anticipated future models.”

The new products will begin to appear in retail stores around the globe by the end of this spring.
