Google and Sony Ericsson have jointly introduced a new mobile phone service, which will cater to bloggers, a large and growing segment of internet users.

The new service will make Google Search and Blogger available to users of select Sony Ericsson camera phones.

Users will be able to start new blogs from their phones, update existing blogs, and even post photographs taken by the digital camera built in to each handset.

IDC analyst Dana Thorat says that by launching this new photo-blogging feature, Sony Ericsson is exploring a new way to monatize a major feature of mobile phones.

“Camera phones are widely accepted — people use them all the time — but the carriers have not been able to make money off of someone taking a picture for personal use,” Thorat commented, suggesting that Sony Ericsson phones would be more attractive to carriers because of this feature.

The first phones to be compatible with photo-blogging will be the K610 UMTS model, as well as the newly announced K800, and K790 imaging handsets, which are set to hit the market in the second quarter of this year.

    1. It is amazing to me the continuous improvements and customer consideration that is happening in some of the tech sector.

This is another example of consumers being offered more convenience and ability to customize their experience. This should do well.
