Demand Increases for Advanced Mobile Operating Systems
8:05 am on April 10, 2006 | Category: Mobile Devices, Software
With cellular phones becoming more advanced with each passing year, it might not be long before high-end mobile operating systems like Windows Mobile 5.0 are included with the majority of handsets.
If Microsoft wants to make Windows Mobile the gold standard in the mobile world, however, it will need to learn a few new tricks to outdo alternatives like Linux and Symbian.
Right now, the mobile OS market in general is growing rapidly, as carriers and handset makers replace their home grown cellular software with more advanced and intelligent operating systems. This has led to a general trend of high-end phones looking and acting more like PCs, which in turn allows them to be easier to program and develop.
With mobile gaming and video becoming increasingly popular, the competition for mobile software supremacy can only get hotter, drawing more and more attention from the public and the media.
