Subscription-based mobile television provider, MobiTV, has announced a partnership with AT&T to offer a Wi-Fi TV service for personal computers.
Telecom giant, AT&T, has agreed to give MobiTV subscribers the ability to watch live IPTV at any of 10,000 hotspots in the United States. Users will pay $10 to $15 per month for the service, allowing them to watch television on their Wi-Fi-enabled laptops.
The programming available includes the Food Network and Fox News, along with programs from a number of other content partners, and a wide selection of MobiTV’s own in-house channels.
If it proves to be a hit with consumers, MobiTV’s new IPTV offering could be a significant step in the much hyped convergence of live television and the internet.
