Magna Global Predicts Growth in Mobile Advertising
6:40 am on April 3, 2006 | Category: Business, Mobile Devices
According to a recent report from Magna Global, wireless devices, or the so called “third screen”, will become a highly lucrative advertising medium in the years to come.
The report predicts that as 3G services like video pick up speed in the global cell phone market, advertisers will flock to the huge new realm of opportunity.
“With a potential audience in the billions, as infrastructure is deployed to meet advertisers’ needs, we believe this vast untapped market will ultimately emerge as one of the most important of the early 21st century,” the report claims.
Although some marketers are already beginning to have success with mobile advertising, there are still a lot of challenges to overcome. These hurdles will need to be dealt with gradually, as both marketers and consumers get used to mobile devices as another advertising medium, just like television and the internet.
