6:40 am on April 5, 2006 | Category: Telecom Services, Mobile Devices
MobiTV announced today that it has doubled its customer base in the past six months, with a total of 1 million subscribers now using its streaming wireless television service.
To celebrate this milestone, MobiTV has unveiled a new hotspot-targeted service to let customers stream content to any laptop, over a Wi-Fi connection. This announcement comes just in time for the CTIA Wireless trade show, where mobile TV is expected to be one of the hottest topics of discussion.
MobiTV is currently one of the top companies in the wireless media sector, and streams both its own channels and third-party content to cell phone users in six countries. It currently has partnerships with a wide selection of carriers, including Orange and 3 in the UK; Rogers, Bell, and Telus in Canada; and Cingular, Sprint, and Alltel in the United States.
