US mobile handset leader, Motorola, has used the recent CTIA Wireless and National Cable TV trade shows to showcase its latest idea for making television entertainment more versatile.

The company’s new “Follow Me TV” technology will ultimately allow users to view DVR video content on a variety of different devices. At first, it will only be available on Motorola cell phones, but it will be gradually expanded onto other mobile phones, PDAs, and laptops from a variety of manufacturers.

“The idea is for people to have access to their multi-media programming where they want and when they want on whatever devices they want,” said Motorola’s general manager of connected home services, John Burke.
