Three giants of the technology industry are joining forces in a global partnership to bring advanced hardware and software to triple play telecommunications carriers.

Alcatel and Microsoft, which already have a standing agreement to work together on IPTV products, have established a global relationship with hardware manufacturer, Hewlett-Packard, which will work to deliver advanced server solutions.

HP has agreed to optimize its server products to support Microsoft’s IPTV offering within Alcatel’s Triple Play Service Delivery Architecture. This task will involve the validation and recommendation of appropriate ProLiant and BladeSystem servers for Microsoft TV: IPTV Edition applications.

The three companies will also work together on sales and marketing activities, and co-promote integrated product bundles that include HP’s server solutions within an end-to-end triple-play offering.
