MVNO wireless provider, Helio, has launched two new high-end mobile devices in the U.S. market, which feature a high level of wireless data functionality, including compatibility with MySpace.

“We start out with data, and voice is just another application,” said Helio CEO, Sky Dayton, explaining the company’s strategy of focusing on data and multimedia functions first, and including voice as an additional accessory.

The Hero and Kickflip handsets are tightly integrated with the MySpace blogging and social networking service, which has become hugely popular among users in their teens and twenties.

These new handsets won’t come cheap, with price tags of $275 and $250, respectively, but do manage to pack in a lot of functionality, including large color screens, removable memory, and integrated flash cameras. The cheapest monthly service plan costs $85, and offers unlimited data, as well as 1,000 voice minutes, and free evenings and weekends.

This is far above the $50/month paid by the average U.S. cell phone customer, but Dayton is quick to remind that customers get a lot of advanced features, and that Helio is “not looking to be the bargain basement provider.”
