R/GA Creates Virtual Studio Application for Nokia N93 Handset

In an effort to further capitalize on the launch of the N93 multimedia cell phone, Nokia’s interactive agency, R/GA, has created a virtual studio application to let users distribute video content captured with the new phone’s built in camcorder.

Nokia hopes that that the new service will encourage users of the device to create mobile video clips, then upload them and post them online.

“We wanted to develop something similar to a movie studio for people to do the content and distribute it easily,” said R/GA’s senior producer, Elyse Epstein.

R/GA is hoping that this innovative new application will tap into user generated content to highlight the creative capabilities of the N93, and other N-Series Nokia handsets. They are planning to feature a number of theme-based movies created with the device by “creative visionaries.” Some of these clips will be shown at the Tribeca Film Festival.
