Virgin Mobile USA Offers Free Wireless Minutes for Reading Ads
7:30 am on May 31, 2006 | Category: Business, Telecom Services, WirelessVirgin Mobile USA, a popular MVNO operated by Sprint Nextel and Richard Branson’s Virgin Corp., has started offering customers an opportunity to “earn” up to 75 minutes a month of free calling by viewing advertisements on their cell phones.
To earn the 75 minutes, users will have to spend the same amount of time reading commercial messages and responding to them via text message.
The company believes that this “ads-for-minutes” concept will be quite popular among its customer base, which consists mostly of people under 30.
