Mobile technology firm, Avaya, is planning to target a wide range of businesspeople with four new modular VoIP phones for the enterprise market. All four will be part of the one-X family, offering improved voice quality and modularity compared to previous models.
The newly unveiled devices are as follows:
Model 9610: This so called “walk-up†phone is intended for use in a lobby or conference room. It features a big screen and an special program that lets IT to run a phone directory through the desktop phone.
Model 9620: Known as the “everyday user†phone, this is a scaled down device intended for “non communication-intensive tasks,” according to Avaya’s vice president of product management, Saied Sechatoleslami.
Model 9630: This “essential user†model is made for users who need to be in constant communication. It includes a number of management features, including conference calls, alerts, and call prioritization. Users of this model are also able to transfer calls onto a desktop VoIP phone and back again at the press of a button.
Model 9650: The “navigator†phone is designed for administrative assistants, and other users who are actively involved in managing calls.
The 9620 and 9630 models are expected to be available next month, while the 9610 and 9650 won’t hit the market until early 2007.
These phones are not wireless. They’re hardwired IP phones.
