Embarq Introduces Special Offers for Wireless Customers

Now that it is independent from Sprint Nextel, local phone provider, Embarq, has started its own foray into the wireless communication industry, offering a number of UTStarcom and LG handsets, and special offers for loyal customers.
Subscribers will now be able to enjoy unlimited calling between their household’s landline and mobile phones, as well as 400 minutes of bonus airtime, if they use Embarq for both landline and wireless services.
The company has also started offering a Nominated Numbers service, letting users sign up for unlimited calling to five pre-designated phone numbers. This is similar to another offer launched by Alltel in April.
There seems to be little question that Embarq is a hungry company, willing to fight hard for a bigger share of the telecommunications industry. By spinning off the seemingly docile division, Sprint Nextel might have inadvertently created a powerful new competitor in the wireless market.

I am an Embarg.com member. Eathlink is not transferring my email and web messages. I do not have Embarq TotalAccess. Earthlink has dropped me as a member. I have difficulty receiving messages and then opening them.

embarq maybe hungry but they are so restriced in the cell phone area and they will not help if your phone is falling apart it makes them a company very low on the customer satisfaction totem pole. Have had my cell phone service for less than 1 year and both phones are falling apart. Embarq will not repair/replace nor give a discounted rate on a new phone. At least when I had AT&T they would always either repair/replace or let you change your plan and get new phones. They also want $300.00 to cancel service since my contract has not expired. Can’t wait until I can switch back. They cannot be that hungry if they won’t help there customers

i had a my service bundled because i have cancer and cant remember sometimes. however. i find that embarq. when dealing with the wireless service is the most lousey service that i have ever had. i purchased my phones thru them and they have never kept a charge, i call and no one can offer me any help regarding repairs or if i can purchase a new phone myself and have them send me a sim card. i was just told to get a new phone or a new battery, but it had to be through them. ill be so glad when my contract runs out.

Ditto on barbara’s comment. I have 6 months on my contract, dropped my phone, they won’t repair or replace it unless I sign up for another 2 years! “because you didn’t get insurance” which I don’t recall being mentioned when I signed up. Also I can’t log on to their website because I kept my earthlink email address and the only way you can log on is switch to an embarq address. A twisted outfit. Beware.
