France Telecom has finally given in to market pressure, and announced its decision to sell off its majority share in the PagesJaunes telephone directory business.

The company says that it will start looking for ways to sell all or part of its 54% stake in PagesJaunes, the main Yellow Pages service in France, Spain, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

This move will produce some extra money for France Telecom shareholders, while freeing up more of the company’s resources for other, more profitable communications ventures.
