After many delays, Verizon Wireless has finally released the much-anticipated Motorola Q smartphone in the U.S. market.

Now the thinnest smartphone in the world, the Q features a sleek design and integrated QWERTY keyboard, along with an EV-DO high-speed mobile data connection, and Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system. Built-in Bluetooth and speakerphone functions are also welcome additions.

Verizon has chosen to price the new device very competitively, at just US$199 with a two-year service contract. This is one case where the extended contract is well worth it, as the price jumps to $349 if you opt for the one-year agreement.

For comparison, the Palm Treo 700w, which also features EV-DO and Windows Mobile 5.0, is currently being sold for $399 on a two-year contract.
