U.S. telephone giant, AT&T, has secured two more big content deals for its U-verse IPTV service. Carriage deals have now been announced with BET Networks and MTVN, both of which are owned by Viacom.

This will give U-verse subscribers the ability to access linear, high-definition, Video On Demand, and digital music content from both programmers. A total of 24 distinct channels will be offered.

“MTV Networks and BET Networks are dedicated to bringing our audiences the content they are passionate about,” commented MTVN’s president of affiliate sales and marketing Nicole Browning. “As AT&T U-verse TV develops new platforms to provide an advanced and personalized entertainment experience for consumers, we are delighted to partner with them to deliver our strong brands and services and further diversify our customer footprint.”

This important new content partnership will add a lot of value to the U-verse IPTV service as it expands throughout the United States. AT&T hopes to offer U-verse in 20 cities by the end of this year, and reach 19 million households by December 2008.
