EarthLink Extends Broadband Agreement with Time Warner
6:30 am on July 7, 2006 | Category: Business, Telecom Services, Internet
Popular ISP, EarthLink Inc., announced yesterday that it has renewed its deal with Time Warner Inc., allowing it to keep offering its services as part of the cable giant’s bundle.
The reworked deal covers a total of about 19 million households within Time Warner’s broadband internet footprint. This service area could potentially expand once the New York-based cable company completes its partial acquisition of the bankrupt Adelphia Communications Corp.
EarthLink originally became part of Time Warner’s cable offering in 2000, when the two companies signed their first deal. This relationship will remain active for the foreseeable future under the new deal, although exact terms have not been released.
