VoIP telephone provider, SunRocket Inc., is planning to introduce a new international calling plan that would offer unlimited calls to landlines in 36 countries for a flat fee of about $25/month.

The countries covered by the new plan will include Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom, as well as Canada and the United States.

The plan would also include calls to select cities in Mexico, Russia, Finland, Brazil, and Peru.

By launching this new offering, SunRocket hopes to increase its advantage in the VoIP market, luring customers away from competitors like Vonage, whose $25/month plan offers calling only within the U.S., Canada, and select European destinations.

In order to remain competitive, Vonage will likely be forced to drop its rates, further damaging its already abysmal bottom line and potentially sending its stock into yet another nose dive.
