BellSouth Corp. has just signed a co-marketing agreement with DVR pioneer, TiVo, which will allow the telecom giant’s FastAccess DSL subscribers to receive special discounts on TiVo hardware and services.

The many broadband applications of TiVo’s DVR offering, including online scheduling, programming guides, TiVoToGo file transfers, movie browsing, and streaming radio, will be an excellent enhancement to the online experience of BellSouth’s DSL subscribers, the companies said.

“With its strong Southeastern presence and renowned customer satisfaction, BellSouth is uniquely positioned to market the benefits of a broadband-connected TiVo box,” commented TiVo’s VP of business development, Naveen Chopra. “Together, we can turn a DSL Internet connection into a pipeline for video content delivered directly to the television.”

“TiVo’s leading DVR service and powerful consumer brand help us to differentiate our DSL Internet offering by providing our subscribers exciting and entertaining ways to enhance their television and online experience,” added BellSouth retail marketing vice president, Joey Schultz.
