Yahoo is set to move further into the hands of mobile phone users, after signing a new deal with Motorola, the world’s number two handset maker.
Yahoo Go for Mobile, which bundles Yahoo email, search, and address book functions into a single wireless application, will soon be available on a “broad range of (Motorola) phones,” according to the internet giant’s vice president of business development, Bruce Steward.
This is Yahoo’s second deal with a major mobile phone manufacturer. At the beginning of the year, it announced a deal to pre-install the Yahoo Go software on a number of Nokia handsets in various markets around the globe.
