American ISP, EarthLink Inc., has launched a new DSL internet service for small office customers, which does not require a local phone subscription.
Small Office DSL Plus, as the new offering is called, uses a separate line for high-speed data transmission, making it a more versatile option for small business VoIP users. Hardware and installation are included with the service at no extra charge.
“This service takes away the added expense of a local phone line and is a perfect solution for small and medium-sized businesses that can’t get DSL from their local phone company,” said Linda Beck, the executive VP of EarthLink Business Solutions, in a statement.
Small Office DSL Plus offers data transfer rates of 6 Mbps for downloads and 768 kbps upstream. Monthly service rates start at $79.95/month.
